THIS IS AN OPEN COMPETITION ALL TEAMS ARE INVITED ALL YOU NEED IS A WILLINGNESS TO PERFORM, ENTERTAIN AND VALID SPECTATOR LIABILITY INSURANCE FOR YOUR TEAM.

This year the Gathering of the Gunfighters is shaping up to be the BEST YET. With the sponsorship of Yuma Crossing National Heritage Area, RGA and Best Western Coronado The Gathering will be offering Prize Money for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place Gunfighter Teams.

1st Place $500.00

2nd  Place $300.00

3rd Place $200.00

                                   Guidelines for Competition

Check in time/proof of ins/
Injury release   		 January 14th 7am to 8:15am

( Sunday you do not need to be on site until 8:00 am for Safety Meeting and Drawing of lots

 The Gathering of the Gunfighters is Sponsored in cooperation with The Reenactment Guild of America and will follow the Competition Guidelines and Safety Rules as set fourth by The Reenactment Guild of America. Please visit www.rgamerica.org and review the comp guidelines and safety rules.

 

Injury release/ proof of insurance:

An injury release/ hold harmless agreement will be signed and proof of insurance shown at check in prior to entering the competition.

 

 IN CASE OF TIE FOR 1ST ,2ND OR 3RD PLACE SUDDEN DEATH COMPETITION WILL RESULT THE TIED TEAMS WILL BE REQUIRED TO PERFORM A 3RD SKIT AND THE HIGH SCORE WILL BE USED TO BREAK THE TIE.

 

COMPETITION TIMELINE 1876-1909 (These are the years the Territorial Prison was in operation)

 

Contest format:

 

  1. The competition will begin promptly at 9:30 am on January 14th. All groups must be on site and ready to perform 30 minutes prior to start of competition.

 

  1. This is a two day competition Each competing team will need a total of three skits one to perform on Saturday the 14th one to perform on Sunday the 15th and one to use in case of a tie.

 

  1. All skits, stunts, etc., must be performed within the boundaries of the show area.

 

  1. Special props may be used. Yuma Territorial Prison reserves the right to disallow any prop considered to be a safety hazard. Prior approval should be requested, from admin@gatheringofthegunfighters.com  if in doubt.

  

  1. At 8:30 , prior to the competition, a meeting of all team leaders will take place and order of performance determined by drawing of lots.             
  2. Skits are to be a minimum of eight (8) minutes not to exceed fifteen (15) minutes.

 

  1. Skit content must be appropriate for all family members. Original skits should not have abusive language. No obscene gestures. No degrading slurs. Translation: No Profanity. Actual historical reenactments excluded.

After the Deadline of December 15th 2011 a welcome packet will be mailed and emailed to your team containing schedule of events and information on some participant only events. Look forward to seeing everyone in January.
